Besides, the usual stuff of organizing rank, dues and all the trappings you'd come to expect from games like WOW, EQ-2 and CoX, WAR's Guilds will include such cool stuff as Guild Banners to take on the Battlefield, for greater glory and buffs, or to lose in shame and defeat.
A new reign begins on the GW Amp site today. A new herald of the Site Manager title has been chosen and his name is Wyat_Hawke.
For those unaware, outstanding staffer/member Kanna recently stepped down as Site Manager for the site. In his departure, a new SM was sought to fill in the void. Kanna will be missed as staffer but I am pretty sure he isn't completely leaving the site. I would like to be one of the first to thank him for his time and effort he placed into the site on a daily basis. Also please give congratulations to Wyat in his new position for the site.
With Wyat taking over as SM, we are considering opening up to take on new staffers. Stay tuned for news on seeking out site assistance. If anyone has any questions feel free to contact Wyat or myself.
Stay tuned to Gameamp.com for more news on Guild Wars.

The good news is, that ominous count-down on the WAR-europe.com site turns out to be for the pre-order of the Collector's Edition for Europe, not for a Launch Date announcement as some hoped.
That was about an hour or so earlier, and also the not-so-good news for those eagerly awaiting the game.
As Ten Ton Hammer reports in what appears to be a scoop for them, in a unexpected move at a show in Paris, Jeff Hickman announced today another delay for Warhammer Online moving the games release date to "fall."
Many followers of the game's development were expecting a delay already, but this puts it back a bit further than anticipated, at the end of Q3.
There's some really cool stuff in that pre-order kit though, and the CE will feature exclusive in-game content as well as the almost obligatory tin-miniature. Now who's honestly surprised that a figurine made its way into the box?
Let the Good and the Bad not overshadow the "Ugly" though, as the new look for the War Herald is anything but ugly.
Missy Hatch of EA Mythic Entertainment has put out a very nice Beta test review of the Empire vs Chaos tests done over the last few months.
In an 'in character style' she manages to relate a lot about the atmosphere of the game, blending lore and mechanics in a good to read, easy to understand and yet lengthy and thorough article.
Of note are the unveiling of several masteries:
Bright Wizard Masteries
Warrior Priest Masteries
Chosen Masteries
Zealot Masteries
And some details on Siege gameplay, but for that you're probably better of checking out the Special Feature on the subject over at the main Warhammer Online site.
Keen and Graev, two blogging brothers have done what I've been meaning (read procrastinating about) for a few weeks now). I.e. to put together an overview of all the many wonderful Warhammer video's available and put them in one list,
on YouTube as it happens. Probably because it's so eminently suited for such a thing. All Paul Barnett's crazy stuff as well as useful video's and other wacky Brits in one place!
Besides above shown lovely Video from Games Day Köln 2007, there's lots more to watch:
The first is about a broohahaa that occurred after Gamestop managed to confuse some EA release dates and put in WAR for September 2nd...
Luckily Marc Jacobs, soon squashed that by saying the release date is still set in mud. Yes, mud...
QUOTE
I've said repeatedly that our, or any MMORPG's, release date, is really set in mud, not stone, due to the complexity of these games, balance issues, etc., etc., etc. so worrying about them or getting worked up over them is a complete waste of time and energy.
The other noteworthy item is the Beta progress update which contains a good first glimpse of the Dark Elves. You got to love a race consisting mostly of underclad females hell bent on destroying their closest cousins in the world out of sheer spite. They're so, so human, but better looking.
EA Mythic has been busy bringing us lots of tiny morsels of goody Lore goodness this last month. Let's summarize (in completely random, especially not chronological order):
Zone Overview: Praag which looks just, just stunning. Beware Chaotics, cats will attack you on sight, or smell! And didn't a meteor fall on this place? Oh wait, that was P&P RPG and it could have been avoided by a different (better) group of heroes than we was.
Short and sweet, the Flight of the Doom Diver but a great tragedy nonetheless, ending in a ... splash.
Longer, but no less gory, there's the tale of Silentstring to read.
And then there's Matt Daniels' take on the how and why of storytelling for WAR. Since he's the Lead Writer of this thing, he's very persuasive.
It's not all lore that we got to see this February just past though. For the Game-mechanics buffs there's
this great piece on Siege Warfare mechanics, which will make you want to join in and fall in to the ranks storming the walls immediately.
And a News item about WAR wouldn't be complete without some wacky videos to link too.
Enjoy:
November 1 was a big day for EA Mythic, they announced that Warhammer Online will be pushed back to Q2 2008 for more "polishing", restructuring of the company that will mean job loss for some developers and
The first announcment of the day was the restructuring. According to top execs some jobs and studios would be at risk of loosing their jobs. But, it was also announced that Mythic, the developers of Warhammer Online will stay intact as it is right now. We can all breathe a sigh of relief, Paul isn't going anywhere!
However that was not the only announcment from EA yesterday, nor the only Warhammer Online announcement. The Warhammer boys announced that they will be pushing back the game from Q1 2008 to Q2 2008 so they can polish it a bit more. Not entirely surprising since they closed the beta servers last month to totally redo combat and game mechanics. The beta servers are down until December causing the developers to miss a milestone. Mark Jacobs, Vice President of EA Mythic, says that it would affect the quality of the game if he help the March release date and he was not willing to sacrifice quality for possible early sales. Good move!
EA Mythic also announced that they plan to work more on Ultima Online and Dark Age of Camelot, possibly bringing those franchises back to life, not that they ever left us. EA is also working with Bioware to bring out a new MMO that is not yet announced but promises to be ground breaking with a new AI.
BL Publishing alongside EA Mythic announced today, in their August Newsletter that they will be putting out a novel based upon Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. The novel will be aptly named Empire in Chaos. Written by Anthony Reynolds, known for his previous work for Games Workshop, this promises to be a great read. The book will be available in all major bookstores and on BlackLibrary.com at the begining of the year.
Empire in Chaos is set in a land plagued by disease and mutant orcs. The heroine Annalise Jaeger, is a woman who ends up in an epic battle to save the Empire from Chaos and the plague that surrounds them after her village is destroyed. She is injured while defending her village and taken captive along with an elf, they are the sole survivors of the attack. The two quickly become friends and fight their way to Black Fire Pass where she discovers powers that run deep within.
Annaliese has the power of courage and faith to inspire those around her. She gangs up with an old Witch Hunter and a Dwarf Ironbreaker, the 4 heroes lead the armies of the Dwarves and the Empire to battle against the Greenskin tribes and Chaos war machines. The heroes must find a way to overcome the darkness or the Empire will be lost forever.

In the eternal fight against Chaos, we must all become heroes
Also, look for the updating of the race and class sections soon as well as the maps section. The information for Elves and their classes has finally been revealed!
That is all for now, keep posting and keep watching the website for updates, beta will start soon and I am sure we will hear more information then.
